DENVER — A long-running dispute over whether nurses should be allowed to administer anaesthesia without doctor supervision has been playing out here and around the country in recent months.

EMAC

Effective Management of Anaesthetic Crises (EMAC)

This ANZCA course is intended to develop the anaesthetist’s skills in the management of emergencies in the perioperative environment. It is relevant at all stages of the anaesthetist's career.The course consists of five modules run over two and a half consecutive days at a simulation centre: human factors, airway management, cardiovascular emergencies, anaesthetic emergencies and trauma management.

For specialist anaesthetists who have completed an ANZCA EMAC Course, and who would like to become an EMAC Instructor.  Also suited to nurses, paramedics, and allied health workers wishing to use simulation techniques in their educational practice.
