DENVER — A long-running dispute over whether nurses should be allowed to administer anaesthesia without doctor supervision has been playing out here and around the country in recent months.

How to Join NZSA

Joining the NZSA is easy.  Just download the application form, tick the boxes, and get the signatures of two current NZSA members.

Finding two members to nominate and second you may seem challenging until you realise that 80% of all New Zealand’s anaesthetist workforce are members.  A stroll into the tea room at lunch should sort things out, or you can approach any one of the current Executive Committee and ask them about joining NZSA and what they get out of it. Further contact details are listed here.

If you are on the SMO MECA (the case for those in ‘MOSS’ positions, and for many in ‘Fellow’ positions), then please circle the “Ordinary Membership” option as you will be able to claim back the full membership fee from your DHB.  Other trainees are entitled to the discounted “Trainee Membership” rate of $315.
