About the Standard
The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), is the medical specialist college for anaesthetists in Australia. ANZCA is accredited by the Medical Council of New Zealand to set the continuing professional development (CPD) standards. The CPD standards apply to all specialist anaesthetists in New Zealand.

Anaesthesia Continuing Education Coordinating Committee (ACECC) is a tripartite body governed by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists.
At the end of 2015 the committee rebranded ACECC to ACE, Anaesthesia Continuing Education. ACE will start appearing on special interest group (SIG) and other continuing medical education (CME) meeting collateral as part of a push to enhance the activities of the Anaesthesia Continuing Education (ACE) Committee.
It’s also home to 17 Special Interest Groups, so if you have a special interest in any area of anaesthesia, you’ll find a group representing it here!
The current Chair of ACE is Dr David Elliott and the ACE Secretariats are Rosetta Caponio and Kirsty O’Connor.
The New Zealand Anaesthesia Education Committee (NZAEC) is a joint committee of the New Zealand National Committee of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (NZNC) and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists (NZSA).
The NZAEC provides co-ordination and support for meetings and other continuing professional development (CPD) events for anaesthetists, particularly the NZ Anaesthesia Annual Scientific Meeting.
The NZAEC chair rotates between NZSA and NZNC ANZCA on a two yearly basis.
The current Chair for NZAEC is Kerry Gunn, Fellowship Affairs Officer for NZNC, representative for ANZCA and on the CPD committee.
In 2016 NZSA took over the administration of NZAEC and the secretary for NZAEC is Dez Martin.
